Prerequisites

Administrative access to Baze Device and IO Server configuration. Device configuration is available via the portal (8.0.15.8) however IO Server configuration is still on Data Engine Manager thick client that connects to the data engine server.

Problem

Issues have been reported on current values not being restored properly when the master data historian on customer installations have been restarted. Please be aware that this can be caused by a miss-configuration of the IO Server or Baze Device itself with regards to the initial value behavior parameter.

Note: This may be corrected to default parameter in future releases.

Resolution

Step 1: Check Initial Value Behavior Configuration on the Device and Related IO Server

Each Baze Device and/or IO Server for a tag (can be specified in both areas) needs to have the Initial Value Behavior parameter set.

The possible options are:

InitialValueRead the initial value from configuration
LastKnownValueRead the last known value from the database
LastKnownValueOrInitialValueRead initial value from configuration or last value from database if none exist.
